Great great great great grandma, how could I ever know what you went through.
All your children taken in the night, all your children taken outta sight.
No voices only silence, no signs of any kindness, living in fear and blindness, how do you survive this?
Your childrens hands were offered, the rich could not be softened, molding you into new life, you follow rules or get strife.
A servant to the white man, watching for whether you can, use the best escape plan.
Pride feel it inside, pride, keep it alive, pride feel it inside, pride, keep it alive.
5 out of 6 made it home, that ones somewhere all alone, now people live in silence, out of fear and survival tactics don't say a word, and shhh protect the children.
Here starts the intergenerational cycle of fear, shame, and silence.
Pride feel it inside, pride, keep it alive, pride feel it inside, pride, keep it alive.
Charlie Needs Braces is a solo project featuring live looping and original compositions inspired by Charlie's new braces and learning about her families Aboriginal heritage.
The great underlying instrumentation paired with Florence's droll stream of consciousness lyrics make this album stand out. It feels so personal and confessional. Favorite tracks are Strong Feelings and Leafy. I've heard Scratchard Lanyard on alt radio and love that one as well. tofupotpie
This album is so wonderful, its full of so much joy and a love of home. I had difficulty picking a favourite song but Camp Dog reflected this part of childhood I dont think has been talked about a lot that exists between children and animals when the grown ups arent around. It brings back such specific memories and feelings for me, and ones I think are paired perfectly with the vocals and instrumentals. Zanthia Blue
The members of Big Slice rubbed shoulders with Britpop legends like Suede & Echobelly—no surprise when you hear their radiant, hooky songs. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 17, 2022
