Meaning ‘goodbye’ in Charlie’s mob’s language, ‘Yanoo’ draws on those familiar endings to friendships and relationships we all experience at some point in our lives, and the inevitable sadness and grief we feel.

Featuring Charlie Woods on vocals, Trumpet, and Loops, sister Miri Woods on backing vocals, and Michael Saxall on Percussion, ‘Yanoo’ brings the familiar Charlie Needs Braces energetic and loop driven grooves with her distinctive brass flare, but a lyrical dissonance as she sings of the hardships and questioning with walking away.

Co-Produced by Charlie with Mr. Kapow, the track was recorded and mixed by Mr. Kapow, mastered by Guy Louis Faletolu, and supported by Creative Victoria.

Yanoo was recorded and performed on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations and Charlie Needs Braces would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners, and pay respect to all past present and emerging First Peoples and their ongoing living cultures.
